Following his sold-out performance at Pepsi Amphitheater in Flagstaff on August 1st, VivaPhoenix had the chance to catch up with comedy legend George Lopez for a quick round of rapid-fire questions. When asked to choose between Coke or Pepsi, Lopez didn’t hesitate: Pepsi. As for his favorite pastime, he picked golf over fishing, and when it comes to tacos, he’s firmly on corn tortillas. We also asked if he attended any FIFA World Cup matches in Mexico, to which he simply replied, “I did not attend a game.” And when asked about Argentina’s behavior after the final, Lopez delivered the kind of blunt humor fans know him for: “If you fail to have any shots on goal, you can’t behave like you can’t believe you lost!”
Lopez has spent decades entertaining audiences through stand-up, television, and film, becoming one of the most influential Latino voices in comedy. From his groundbreaking sitcom George Lopez to his current NBC series Lopez vs. Lopez, along with acclaimed comedy specials like Muy Católico, he continues to connect with audiences through his signature blend of cultural commentary and sharp wit. Following his Arizona stop, Lopez’s tour continues with performances across the country, including dates in Kansas City, San Jose, Sacramento, Washington, D.C., Denver, Los Angeles, Chicago, and more through early 2027, giving fans plenty of opportunities to catch the comedy icon live.
