Regional Mexican music fans can catch Banda Machos live in Phoenix this October when the legendary group takes the stage at Rancho Ochoa this October. The concert will feature a full lineup of stars, including Grupo Exterminador, Tierra Cali, Keith Nieto “El Rey del Sax,” and Viry Sandoval. The event is set to showcase a mix of banda, norteño, cumbia, and other regional Mexican sounds, with doors opening at 3 p.m.
Banda Machos became one of the most recognizable groups of the technobanda movement during the 1990s. The band helped popularize the energetic quebradita dance style with hits such as “La Culebra” and “Leña de Pirul,” while albums including Casimira, Sangre de Indio, and Gracias Mujer helped establish their place in Regional Mexican music. The group has earned major industry recognition, including a Lo Nuestro Award and a Grammy nomination for its 2006 album 20 Mil Heridas. More than three decades after forming, Banda Machos continues to tour and perform for longtime fans and a new generation of Regional Mexican music lovers.
