County Data Shows Continued Flattening of Hospitalizations

Maricopa County Department of Public Health’s latest data shows the number of local COVID-19 hospitalizations is flattening. This is likely attributed to the protective measures individuals and the community are taking to slow the spread of disease and is a signal to the community to keep doing what we are doing. Substantial increase in COVID-19 testing statewide over the last month.

Data from the Arizona Department of Health Services indicates 44,096 tests were performed in the week leading up to April 12 (compared with less than 10,000 per week in early March). The majority of the tests were for those ages 20-44. Overall, 92 percent of tests over the past week came back negative. (Source: ADHS via Maricopa County- Daily Update April 14, 2020.) Learn more.

  • Donate to Vista Del Camino Food Bank. Donations of non-perishable food items and toiletries will be put to good use at the Vista Del Camino Food Bank. Drop-off your donation from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. weekdays at 7700 E. Roosevelt Street. Since the main lobby is closed to the public, please go to the food bank double doors on the east side of the building and ring the doorbell. No citrus can be accepted at this time.   • Donate blood. The American Red Cross and Vitalant, formerly United Blood Services, are experiencing blood shortages due to the coronavirus outbreak. Consider scheduling an appointment to donate today. Visit the websites to see additional safety precautions that are being put in place.
