Serrano’s: Pronto Concept Opening Coming Soon

When it comes to fantastic Mexican food and a local name people trust, it doesn’t get any better than Serrano’s! Founded in 1979 by Ernie and Eva Serrano, Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants offer fresh, delicious Sonoran-style Mexican food with signature recipes passed down through generations.

The Serranos are proud to be the oldest, continuously owned, and operated family business in Chandler and recently celebrated 100 years of business. Today, seven of Ernie and Eva’s children own and operate Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants. From cooking to catering and payroll to operations and it is truly a family affair.

Pronto Concept

Debuting in late fall is a restaurant-within-a-restaurant called Pronto. The perfectly named Pronto is a new fast-casual Mexican food concept that will be opening in late fall at Serrano’s Tempe restaurant location at 6440 S. Rural Road.

With a focus on “fast, fresh, flavorful, and familiar,” Pronto will offer build-your-own combos featuring burritos, tacos, nachos, salads, and more. Favorite Serrano staples like machaca, shredded chicken, Asada steak, tomatillo pork, and more will be offered. Guests who love Serrano’s famously addictive bean dip, chips, and salsa can get their fill at Pronto.

Some of the upcoming entrees and menu offerings at Pronto include:

Pronto Bowl: Our crispy shell layered with your choice of protein (shredded chicken, machaca beef or tomatillo pork), rice (Spanish or Cilantro Lime) and/or beans (black, pinto, refried), sauce (green, red, tomatillo) and the following toppings: pickled red onions, shredded lettuce, queso fresco, corn salsa, and crema.

Mangonada Margarita: Mixed frozen margarita with mango puree, Tajin, and chamoy.

Dessert Nachos: Tortilla strips deep-fried and dipped in cinnamon sugar topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and caramel.

“This is the first chance for our customers to try a few of the menu items from Pronto,” said Ric Serrano, CEO of Serrano’s Mexican Restaurants. “We are looking forward to asking them, ‘How do you Pronto?’ because our entrees are all highly customizable.”

Since the fall of 2020, The Tempe Serrano’s location has been closed for remodeling. Pronto will usher in a new era and feature ordering at the counter instead of a traditional dine-in experience with servers. The goal is to provide the same Sonoran-style cuisine at a lower price point and with quicker service.
