The event will transform East Jefferson Street between South Central Avenue and South 5th Street into a thrilling motorsports showcase featuring world-class vehicles and drivers.
Unlike a traditional race, the Red Bull Showrun is a live demonstration designed to highlight the speed, sound, and precision of elite motorsports machines. Spectators will get a rare opportunity to see an Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula One car and a Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 car driving through the streets of downtown Phoenix, alongside other Red Bull motorsports vehicles. The event promises roaring engines, high-performance driving, and a close-up look at the technical skill required to handle these incredible machines.
Former Formula One driver and longtime Red Bull athlete Patrick Friesacher shared his excitement ahead of the event during an interview with VivaPhoenix.com.
“What I can say – it’s going to be very cool,” Friesacher said. “I’m really looking forward to it, and I’m really excited about it and it’s going to be epic.”
For those who have never experienced Formula One up close, Friesacher says the moment fans should watch for is when the F1 car hits the course.
“You’re going to see it in real life, really close up. The speed, the sound, the noise – it’s very special and you won’t forget that for the rest of your life,” he said.
Friesacher also joked that when it comes time to celebrate after the event, Phoenix’s famous tacos would be his top pick.
The showrun is designed to bring Formula One excitement directly to the streets, offering fans a rare chance to witness the power and performance of these vehicles outside of a racetrack. As Friesacher puts it, “You will get goosebumps — that’s for sure.”
