Meet Eric Jimenez, the Man Behind Scottsdale’s Busted 2 Bangin Home Décor

For Eric Jimenez, making things beautiful has always been second nature.

Before becoming one of the Valley’s most recognizable interior designers, the Phoenix native spent 17 years working as a hair and makeup artist. His career included magazine shoots, reality television productions, and countless client transformations. Today, that same creative vision powers Busted 2 Bangin, the home décor and interior design business he built alongside his partner, Garrett Loomis.

Born in Tucson and raised on Phoenix’s west side, Jimenez credits much of his drive to watching his father work tirelessly to support the family.

“There were days where we ate beans and tortillas because that’s all we had in the refrigerator,” he recalls. “But my dad always hustled, and that definitely stayed with me.”

That work ethic shaped Jimenez’s own career path. At 21, he left the makeup counter to build his own business. Years later, while he and Loomis were renovating homes on the side, an unexpected opportunity emerged.

During a gathering with friends, someone jokingly described their projects as taking homes from “busted to bangin.” The phrase stuck. So did the business idea.

What began as an Instagram account showcasing renovations quickly gained attention. A viral post helped spark momentum, leading to a candle launch that sold out within 24 hours. From there, the couple continued to reinvest, eventually opening a retail store and growing Busted 2 Bangin into a multimillion-dollar design brand.

“Everyone says this store belongs in LA, Miami, New York,” Eric says. “We’re a little more funky, sexy, edgy — we just weren’t your basic Arizona store.”

Today, many of Jimenez’s former beauty clients have become design clients.

“I did hair and makeup for 17 years — I made women beautiful, and now I make homes beautiful.”

His personality is just as memorable as his interiors. When asked about a design trend he secretly loves, Jimenez points to vintage tchotchkes.

“I call them treasures,” he said.

The fascination dates back to childhood trips to swap meets with his father and continues to inspire his work today. And while he has an eye for luxury, he also has a sense of humor. Asked to name three things he couldn’t live without at home, he listed a favorite piece of artwork, his Louis Vuitton trunk and his beloved bidet.

“It’s the most fabulous toilet you could ever have in your life,” he laughed.

For aspiring entrepreneurs, especially young Latinos, Jimenez offers simple advice:

“Nobody knows your worth except for yourself. Invest in yourself, keep hustling, because I know a lot of Latinos have that hustle in them.”
