Sonoran Hot Dogs are a food staple in Arizona. Nowadays, it seems like most restaurants have their own variation on the famous southwest hot dog, and if they don’t, you can pretty much find a late-night stand close to your home anywhere in the valley.

But if you’re looking for the absolute best, you must try the hot dogs from Nogales Hot Dogs #2. Located on the southwest corner of 20th Street and Indian School Road, next to Collectors Marketplace, Nogales Hot Dogs offers all the qualities that a Sonoran Hot Dog should have.

Hot Dogs

Their hot dogs are wrapped with thick bacon slices and then grilled on a flat top. Once done, the hot dog is placed inside in a warm and spongy Bolillo-style bread. The hot dog is then smeared with a layer of mayonnaise and topped with fresh bits of raw white onion, tomatoes, and beans.

After this, it’s all up to you on how you want to continue to dress your “doggo” as some Sonoran natives affectionately call them. You can add some creamy avocado sauce, salsa verde, crumbly cotija cheese, shredded cheese, and even mushrooms!

The possibilities are endless. Aside from the hot dogs, you can also order chips and even add a Mexican coke to wash all the deliciousness down.
