Mariachi fans will have the chance to experience one of the most respected names in Mexican music when Mariachi Los Camperos performs at the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix this August. The Grammy-winning ensemble has been a major force in the modern mariachi tradition since its founding in 1961 by José Natividad “Nati” Cano Ruiz. Cano helped expand mariachi’s presence in the United States, taking the group beyond traditional venues and onto stages including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Their latest album, Así Somos Los Camperos, was released in 2025, continuing the ensemble’s tradition of celebrating and preserving mariachi music for audiences around the world.
